This Level 1 program covers an overview of the Clean Water Act, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program, and the proper installation and maintenance of temporary pollution controls (Best Management Practices - "BMPs"

Intended Audience

For StormwaterONE students who have completed the CI130: Stormwater Management for Construction Activity training program or CI130A: Stormwater Management for Construction Activity - Advanced.

Curriculum

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the components and framework of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program.
  • Describe the proper installation and maintenance of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs).
  • Define Erosion Control, Sediment Control, and Pollution Prevention
  • Describe erosion and sediment control Best Management Practices (BMPs) and the role they play in preventing pollution from entering neighboring surface waters of Wisconsin.
  • Describe the pollution prevention measures required while on a construction site.
