This Level 1 program covers the proper installation and maintenance of temporary pollution controls (Best Management Practices - "BMPs").

  • Describe erosion and sediment control Best Management Practices (BMPs) and the role they play in preventing pollution from entering neighboring surface waters of Nova Scotia.
  • Describe the pollution prevention measures required while on a construction sit.

Minimizing the amount of disturbed soil on the construction site will decrease the amount of soil which erodes from the site, and it can decrease the amount of controls you have to construct to remove the sediment from the runoff.
