City of Springfield - Environmental Services Program Overview

This 5-hour online course will educate general contractors on the basic principles and practices of erosion and sediment control, and promote the importance of complying with stormwater regulations for construction activities.

This training provides an introduction to erosion and sediment control, and the proper installation and maintenance of temporary pollution controls (Best Management Practices - "BMPs").

This course has been reviewed and recognized by the EPA and is a Level 100 United States Green Build Council approved course.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the proper installation and maintenance of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs).
  • Define Erosion Control, Sediment Control, and Pollution Prevention
  • Describe erosion and sediment control Best Management Practices (BMPs) and the role they play in preventing pollution from entering neighboring surface waters of Missouri.
  • Describe the pollution prevention measures required while on a construction site.
