Intro to IDDE Program Overview
This 2.5-hour virtual instructor led training educates professionals about the main tenets of the Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination (IDDE) program. This program will discuss the authorized non-stormwater discharges as well as the basics of illicit discharge detection, outfall inspections, and effluent monitoring & sampling.
IDDE is one of the six (6) Minimum Control Measures as required by the NPDES Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System permit (MS4).

Intended Audience
The audience for this course includes stormwater personnel responsible for detecting and eliminating illicit discharges regulated by a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Phase I and Phase II entity.
Curriculum: LIVE SESSION #1: Intro to Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE)
This virtual instructor led training is an introduction to the illicit discharge detection and elimination (IDDE) program that will give both novices as well as experienced industry professionals a number of visual reference points for creating or managing their IDDE program.
Come join Brad Flack on the 1st Friday of each Month for a presentation on Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination (IDDE). Once the 25 question examination is complete, you will receive your Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and your certificate of completion (all accessible through the "My Transcripts" section of your Student Dashboard).
Learning Objectives
At the completion of this course, the student will be provided the resources necessary to explain and administratively establish the IDDE program as well as to:
-- Define fundamental Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE) rules and regulations for stormwater management.
-- Administratively establish fundamental IDDE procedures to protect water quality, our environment and surface waters.
-- Explain types of illicit discharges and the monitoring programs used to control runoff at the source.
-- Detect visual, non-visual and physical indicators when an illicit discharge may have occurred and the setup procedures to conduct inspections.
-- Implement IDDE goals, practices, tools, inspection methods and required documentation.
