Stormwater Management Program Overview

This Level 1 program covers an overview of the Clean Water Act, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program, and the proper installation and maintenance of temporary pollution controls (Best Management Practices - "BMPs"

Intended Audience

For StormwaterONE students who have completed the CI150: Stormwater Management for Construction Activity training program or CI150A: Stormwater Management for Construction Activity - Advanced.

Curriculum

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the components and framework of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program.
  • Describe the proper installation and maintenance of stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs).
  • Define Erosion Control, Sediment Control, and Pollution Prevention
  • Describe erosion and sediment control Best Management Practices (BMPs) and the role they play in preventing pollution from entering neighboring surface waters of Hawaii.
  • Describe the pollution prevention measures required while on a construction site.

At the Completion of This Program You Will Receive



From an average construction site, 30 tons of sediment per acre is eroded into nearby waterways.
