Course Description

At the completion of this course, the student will be provided the resources necessary to explain and administratively establish the IDDE program as well as to:

  • Define fundamental Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination (IDDE) rules and regulations for stormwater management.

  • Administratively establish fundamental IDDE procedures to protect water quality, our environment and surface waters.

  • Explain types of illicit discharges and the monitoring programs used to control runoff at the source.

  • Detect visual, non-visual and physical indicators when an illicit discharge may have occurred and the setup procedures to conduct inspections.

  • Implement IDDE goals, practices, tools, inspection methods and required documentation.
